The Thursday NHL schedule begins with the slumping Buffalo Sabres hosting the Carolina Hurricanes. The Sabres were a team to watch earlier this season, but they come in on a five-game losing streak. The Hurricanes opened as -112 favorites and bettors are pounding Carolina, as they are now -137. Cam points out that the Sabres look like a soft team and other teams have been taking advantage.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are big favorites at home against the New York Rangers. Brian is looking at taking the big price on the Rangers and Cam also is looking at taking the big number and the game over the total.
The Florida Panthers are favored at home against the Winnipeg Jets and this game could be the biggest play of the night for Brian. Make sure to listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get Brian’s pick.
The Minnesota Wild have not played well this season, but they are small home favorites against the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes still don’t get much respect from the oddsmakers, but they have been a much better team than Minnesota this season. Brian has an angle that applies to this game that supports the Coyotes and both Brian and Cam like this game to go over the total.
The Edmonton Oilers are slight home favorites against the Colorado Avalanche. This is the best matchup of the night, as the Oilers lead the Pacific Division, while the Avalanche are second in the Central Division. The Avalanche still have a lot of injuries, but they come into this game having won three straight. Cam leads toward taking Colorado in this contest and he is on the over.
The Dallas Stars are in the second half of a back-to-back, as they visit the Vancouver Canucks. This is one game that Brian is avoiding on the Thursday night NHL schedule.
The San Jose Sharks seemed to have turned the corner, as they have won four straight games and they are slight road favorites against Anaheim. Brian and Cam are both on the Sharks in this contest.
The late game on Thursday has the Los Angeles Kings favored at home against the Detroit Red Wings. Brian and Cam lean toward taking the Red Wings at the plus price, but this is not a major play for either of them.
Saturday, November 16th, 2019 NHL Schedule
The NHL schedule for Saturday is huge with 15 games on the card. Brian and Cam have some thoughts about matinees and this Saturday has five early games. One of the games that they like is Vegas at Los Angeles. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get their thoughts.
The marquee matchup on Saturday has the Washington Capitals visiting the Boston Bruins in a battle of division leaders. Both teams are in a back-to-back situation, as Boston was in Toronto on Friday, while the Capitals hosted Montreal.
The other marquee matchup on Saturday has the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Leafs are not playing well of late, while the Penguins are treading water without the injured Sidney Crosby. Cam has some insight into the Maple Leafs, so make sure to listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast.
