Monday, February 17th 2020 NHL Schedule, Betting Odds, Picks

Florida Panthers at San Jose Sharks -117, 6.5

On Friday’s episode (02/14/2020) Cam chirped on how much he hates the Panthers and that they should be contracted. Yet, he also called for them to get the money in Saturday’s home game against Edmonton. We can only assume Cam’s hate and rage reached epic vein-popping proportions after the Cats 6-2 blowout loss to the Oil. Florida is now four points out of the final spot in the East for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. An NHL rank of 29th for goals allowed has offset the NHL’s fifth-best goal scoring total. Yet, Cam is coming right back on the team he says will put you in the “Looney Bin!” Brian passes.

Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames -210, 6

Even though Calgary ranks 22nd for goals scored and 18th for goals allowed with a lackluster home record of 13-11-4 and a negative goal differential of -12, somehow the Flames hold the number seven slot in the West. Anaheim has lost three of their last four. The Ducks remain 14th in the West. Cam is coming big-time strong on this one – don’t miss the pick. Listen to today’s episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast.

New York Islanders at Arizona Coyotes -135, 5

Did the Coyotes stop the bleeding in a 3-1 home win over the Capitals? Arizona has jumped back into the West’s final spot for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Brian voiced confidence in the Islanders on the last several episodes of the podcast, but NYI has lost two in a row. New York still holds the number six spot in the East. Brian has a strong opinion on this one, and Cam agrees. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get the big free pick.

Washington Capitals at Vegas Golden Knights -134, 6.5 (NBCSN)

Erratic Vegas has won two in a row to stay in the sixth spot in the West. The slumping Caps have lost three of their last four and have dropped from first to third in the Eastern Conference. But Washington is a dangerous 21-7-1 on the road. And Alex Ovechkin is two goals away from the magical 700 mark for his career. The guys have a major selection on this Cup Final rematch along with a prop bet just for good measure. Listen to today’s episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast for the details on their NHL picks.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Colorado Avalanche -105, 6

This a potential preview of the 2020 Stanley Cup Final. Brian stated on last Monday’s podcast (02/10/2020) that he has a ticket on the Avs to win it all. The Lightning have struck for 10 straight wins to close within one point of top seed in the East for the post-season. Colorado was embarrassed in Saturday night’s 3-1 Stadium Series loss to the lowly Los Angeles Kings on NBC as -259 chalks. But Nathan MacKinnon powers the NHL’s top scoring team. On today’s episode the guys have a strong and spirited disagreement over this marquee match-up. Cam likes Colorado to bounce back, but Brian likes the Lightning to strike yet again!

Tuesday, February 18th 2020 NHL Schedule, Betting Odds, Picks

Columbus Blue Jackets at Philadelphia Flyers -136, 5.5

These teams are tied for sixth in the East. CBJ has dropped four in a row as their lack of offence is catching up with them. The Flyers are 19-5-4 at home. The guys have this one over the total, and Cam adds the Flyers for the side.

Toronto Maple Leafs at Pittsburgh Penguins -132, 6.5 (SN, NBCSN)

Toronto is 16-12-1 on the road and has dropped four of their last seven games. Analytics geek and general manager Kyle “Dubious” Dubas continues his fantasy hockey strategy with a Leafs team ranked fourth for goals scored but 26th for goals allowed. Pittsburgh has won seven of their last ten and is the more complete club with marks of eighth for goals scored and sixth for goals allowed. The Pens are 21-5-4 at PPG Paints Arena. Cam reports Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe is a very unhappy man these days. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast for a power-packed pick from Cam on the side, while Brian likes a play on the over/under.

Buffalo Sabres -114, 6 at Ottawa Senators (RDS2)

After the guys spent a couple episodes (02/10/2020) and (02/12/2020) last week howling at the moon about the losing ways of Buffalo, the Sabres went on to win two in a row. Ottawa has dropped seven of their last eight. Will Brian and Cam continue to rock the Buffalo Moon Howl? Listen to today’s episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to get the guys’ big selection.

Montreal Canadiens -177, 5.5 at Detroit Wings (TSN2)

On Friday’s episode (02/14/2020) the guys remarked about how injuries are wiping out the Habs. The puck line may be the preferred alternative method of Montreal backers against the Dead Wings. The guys don’t like this game, but Cam has the Wings as the big dog with bite in a classic “Degenerate Special” for those who just have to play.

New Jersey Devils at St. Louis Blues -205, 6

On each of last week’s episodes Cam gushed about his love of the Devils, who have won three of their last five. The defending Stanley Cup champion Blues are bleeding red ink with eight losses in their last 10 games. The Note’s first-place lead in the Western Conference is now gone. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast for in-depth analysis and a strong selection on this one.

Carolina Hurricanes at Nashville Predators -132, 6

Somehow, while ranking 25th for goals allowed, the Predators have won six of their last nine to stay within one point of the last playoff spot in the West and have three games in hand. Carolina is tied with Toronto for the final spot in the East but has two games in hand. The Canes have also won six of their last nine. Brian likes the Predators skill on offence but not their leaky back end. With that in mind, he likes over the total for this one, and Cam concurs. Brian also likes the resurgent Preds to win. Cam can’t disagree.

Los Angeles Kings at Winnipeg Jets -157, 5.5

While Minnesota fired coach Bruce Boudreau, the Jets simultaneously extended their bench boss Paul Maurice. Winnipeg was so inspired that they lost the next two games that followed to fall out of the last playoff spot in the West. But LA may be in a letdown spot after their big upset win in the Stadium Series at Colorado. The Kings are 9-21-4 on the road. Cam drops the gloves and pounds away for this one with a pick not to be missed. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get this and more free NHL picks.
