Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 NHL Betting Schedule

Pittsburgh Penguins -180, 6.5 vs. San Jose Sharks

The Penguins just lost their top scorer, Jake Guentzel to injury and he will be out for at least the next four months. Pittsburgh was already missing Sidney Crosby, so the Penguins could be challenged to score goals. The line has moved toward San Jose, as the Penguins opened as a -190 favourite. Brian and Cam are avoiding this contest.

Buffalo Sabres -135, 6 vs. Edmonton Oilers

The early money is on the Sabres, as they opened as a -120 favourite and the current line is -135. Cam expects a lot of goals to be scored in this one, so he is taking the over.

New York Islanders -215, 5.5 vs. New Jersey Devils

This line opened with the Islanders listed as a -220 favourite and has moved down slightly to -215. Cam said if you are looking for a big dog on Thursday night then the Devils are the pick.

Boston Bruins -195, 5.5 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets are getting some action in this game, as the Bruins opened as a -225 favourite and the number is down to -195. The total has also moved in this game from 6 to 5.5.

Tampa Bay Lightning -145, 6.5 at Montreal Canadiens

Bettors are backing the Lightning who have won four straight, as Tampa opened as a -135 favourite and is now -145. Brian and Cam point out that the Canadiens are dealing with a number of injuries, so they are leaning to Tampa Bay.

Florida Panthers -140, 6.5 at Ottawa Senators

The early money is on Florida in this game, as the Panthers opened as a -135 favourite. The total on this game is high at 6.5, but Brian and Cam still like the game to go over the total.

Toronto Maple Leafs -145, 6.5 at Winnipeg Jets

Bettors like Toronto in this one, as the Leafs opened as a -130 favourite and they are up to -145. Cam is going against the line move and taking the Jets as a home underdog.

Calgary Flames -185, 6.5 vs. New York Rangers

The money is on Calgary in this game, as the Flames opened up as a -170 favourite and they are now listed at -185.

Arizona Coyotes -175, 5 vs. Anaheim Ducks

There has been some movement on the total in this one, as it opened at 5.5 and is down to 5.

Colorado Avalanche -135, 6 vs. St. Louis Blues

There has not been much movement on this match-up between the top two teams in the Central Division.

Vancouver Canucks -150, 6 vs. Chicago Blackhawks

This is another game that has not seen much line movement, as the Canucks go for six straight wins.

Vegas Golden Knights -175, 6 vs. Philadelphia Flyers

The line movement in this game is on Vegas, as they opened as a -160 favourite and are up to -175. Make sure to listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get Brian and Cam’s picks on this game.

Friday, January 3rd, 2020 NHL Schedule

Washington Capitals at Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have won two straight and they are just two points behind Pittsburgh for third place in the Metropolitan Division. This could be a game to take over the total.

Detroit Red Wings at Dallas Stars

The Stars will be heavily favoured at home, but they are in a huge letdown spot coming off The 2020 NHL Winter Classic. Brian and Cam are taking a look at the Red Wings in this contest.
Weekend Games

There are five matinee games on Saturday, including St. Louis at Vegas. Brian and Cam think Saturday’s card is tough, so they are leery about making too many plays on Saturday.

Brian points out that Florida’s game on Saturday in Buffalo had a time change to the afternoon because the Bills are playing at home on Saturday and that may help the Panthers on Sunday in the second half of a back-to-back at Pittsburgh. Brian is looking at taking the Panthers as a road dog on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
