The Tampa Bay Lightning are the favorites to win the Eastern Conference at odds of about 3-1, but Cam is leery of taking Tampa Bay at the short price. Cam thinks the Bruins could be a better choice on the odds board. Boston finished with 107 points and made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final last season, but they couldn’t beat St. Louis, losing in seven games.
Cam thinks the Washington Capitals best days are behind them so he is fading them this season, but Cam does think the Pittsburgh Penguins could have another run in them.
Brian and Cam both have some strong opinions on the Florida Panthers who are one of the trendy picks heading into the 2019-2020 season. Florida has a new head coach in Joel Quenneville, a new goaltender in Sergei Bobrovsky and high expectations, but Brian and Cam are not yet sold. The New York Rangers are always a popular team among bettors and Brian and Cam are on board this season with the Rangers. They are not as high on the Islanders or on the Devils. Cam has some positive things to say about the Philadelphia Flyers and their goaltender Carter Hart.
Brian follows the Buffalo Sabres very closely, so make sure to listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get his insight into Buffalo. Cam has a strong opinion on the Montreal Canadiens and he thinks the future is bright for Montreal, but Cam is not high on the Carolina Hurricanes. Cam is also not high on some of the bottom feeders like Detroit and Ottawa.
