Vegas is the most successful expansion team in history, but they did take a step back last season, as they finished with 93 points. Vegas is coming off a tough loss to San Jose and both Brian and Cam expect the Golden Knights to contend for the Stanley Cup this season.

The Colorado Avalanche are getting a lot of love in terms of NHL futures and both Brian and Cam are onboard with Colorado heading into this season, but the price is a bit too low for Cam. Colorado and St. Louis are co-second choices at odds of +630 to win the Western Conference. The Blues could be a better team than the one that totaled 99 points last year but they might not finish as highly and there is no question they will not surprise teams as they did a year ago and Cam is looking to fade the Blues.

Brian and Cam have two darkhorse teams that they like heading into this season, so make sure to listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to get their predictions.

Brian believes that this is finally the year that the Arizona Coyotes make the playoffs. The drought has been long for Arizona, but Brian thinks this is the season for the Coyotes with the addition of Phil Kessel and with the improvement of their younger players. Cam is also on board with Arizona having a good 2019-2020 season.

Another longshot that Brian and Cam are looking at for this season is the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago could be a little overvalued at odds of +1600, but Brian thinks the Blackhawks will make the playoffs this season.

Brian and Cam also consider the bottom four teams on the odds board, beginning with the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers have one of the best players in the league in Connor McDavid, but Brian and Cam are not sold on the Oilers. Brian and Cam also don’t have much positive to say about the Wild, Ducks and Kings.
